Objectives:

Practical:

·       to practice pupils’ acting skills ;

·       to train pupils dialogue and monologue speech;

Educational:

·       to extend pupils’ knowledge about Great Britain and its traditions

·       to extend pupils’ knowledge of English as a foreign language.

Developing:

·       to increase pupils' motivation;

·       to develop pupils’ communicative and acting skills

Educative:

·       to encourage children to know and respect foreign countries

·        to cultivate pupils’ love for native land.

Materials: slide projector, music records, basket of sweets, pictures, posters, masks, flags.

Two gentlemen

1. Hello! We would like to present you Great Britain.
2. If you want to live in the Great Britain, you should buy an umbrella and rubber boots.
1. If you want to pass for an Englishman, you should talk only about the weather and respect the national Great Britain cuisine.
2. Do they like their national cuisine?
1. Yes, they do. Probably that’s why on weekends they like to go to Paris for dinner, to escape from their puddings.
2. What do they like to eat?
1. Porridge…
2. Oh no…
1. Beans in tomato sauce…
2. Oh no…
1. And rice pudding…
2. Oh no…

Вихід Королеви в супроводі 2 гвардійців

- Я, її величність, королева Єлизавета , дуже стурбована цим надзвичайним становищем та наказую своїм підданим, славнозвісним детективам - Шерлоку Холмсу та Доктору Ватсону, якнайшвидше піймати собаку Баскервілей та привести його на мій справедливий суд !

Сцена 3

Звучить музика із к.ф. «Шерлок Холмс и Доктор Ватсон». Виходят Ш.Холмс і Доктор Ватсон.

- Шерлок, а з чого ж ми почнемо наші пошуки?
- Це ж елементарно, Ватсон. Звичайно ж, з Букінгемського Палацу

In measurements, the building is 108 metres long across the front, 120 metres deep (including the central quadrangle) and 24 metres high. There is a The Throne Room, The Ballroom, The State Dining Room and The Music Room 

More than 50,000 people visit the Palace each year as guests to banquets, lunches, dinners, receptions and the Royal Garden Parties.

Слайд “ Chimney Sweep Festival!”+ розповідь

In Rochester, England, real life chimney sweeps have about as much fun as they do in Mary Poppins! Part of the traditions with the chimney sweep profession include a celebration that takes place once a year and goes on for 3 days straight. This was on May 1st.

One of the most important parts of this holiday tradition is the awakening of the Jack-in-the-Green during the festival. The Jack-in-the-Green is a 7 foot tall leafy man that starts the parade celebrations each year alongside traditional Morris dancers and the chimney sweeps. After all of the excitement during the day with the parades and dances, the festivities continue at night in the many local pubs where local beer flows and local bands play all night for the lively audience. This festival is a great way to celebrate the tradition and history of the chimney sweep profession

Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and often extended to refer to the clock and the clock tower. The tower is officially known as Elizabeth Tower,  previously it was known simply as the Clock Tower. The tower holds the second largest four-faced chiming clock in the world (after Minneapolis City Hall).^[The tower was completed in 1858 . It has become one of the most prominent symbols of the United Kingdom and is often in the establishing shot of films set in London.

There are four meals a day in an English home: breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner. Tea is the third meal of the day. It is between 4 or 5 o'clock, the so-called 5 o'clock tea. On the table there is tea, milk or cream, sugar, bread and butter, cakes and jam. Friends and visitors are often present at tea.

The traditional love of English people for tea is well known. They like to drink tea with milk. They have their five-o'clock tea not only at home or in offices, but also in tea-rooms and tea-shops, which can be found in every town.

Madame Tussauds ; the family themselves pronounce it  is a wax museum inLondon with branches in a number of major cities. It was founded by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud. It used to be known as "Madame Tussaud's"; Madame Tussauds is a major tourist attraction in London, displaying waxworks. Today's wax figures at Tussauds include historical and royal figures, film stars, sports stars and famous murderers.

Ватсон. Де ж це ми? Невже ми втратили слід?!Що робити?

Шерлок Холмс. Це  ж елементарно, Ватсон! Давай спитаємо у цього шановного фермера.

- Скажіть но, шановний, а які тварини у вас на фермі живуть?

Фермер. Сказати – й не скажу. Краще заспіваю!

Song “Old McDonald has a farm”.

 Звучить лай собаки(запис) З-за спин дітей вибігає собака Баскервілей .Але Холмс і Ватсон ловлять її та виводять на середину сцени

-         Друзі мої, тепер я ніколи не буду лякати жителів Лондона. Відпустіть мене, будь ласка!

 Фінальна сцена

Виходить Королева з гвардійцями( і всі дійові особи)

-         Вельми дякую вам, шановні Шерлок Холмс та Доктор Ватсон!

А вам, дорогі друзі, вже ніхто не завадить відвідати нашу чудову країну!Чекаємо всіх з візитом!
